School District to Receive Stimulus Money
DGSD will receive over 1.5 million dollars in federal stimulus funding that must be used over the next two years. The money can go a long way toward taking care of needs the District has right now, but will not be available after the two years so it would not be wise to use this money for things that must be sustained such as added positions or salaries.
DGSD is seeking input from staff and community as to the priority of the needs that should be addressed. Much of the money provided by the stimulus program comes with programmatic requirements so it cannot just be used for anything; however, if it will improve the achievement of students, then it will be a valid expenditure.
We encourage you to complete the survey on the District webpage to help identify the priority needs for the District.
This needs to be completed by June 10. Thank you very much. If you have questions, please call Laural Jackson at 895-4657 ex 24

School Closures for Summer
The high school will close to the public as of Monday, May 25 following the Buffalo Wallow until the fall.
In the fall we are anticipating a lower level of accessibility to continue until the Weatherization project is complete.
We will be opening up the other campuses a little bit more to compensate for the changes however.
